Bensham Food Corridor

Bensham Food Corridor aims to bring various growing projects and ideas, both existing and new, together into one network to explore community food growing, nutrition benefits and growing for health and wellbeing. This will be achieved by strengthening each project through collaboration and by sharing knowledge, training opportunities, and resources for the benefit of the community. Some of the groups are in the early stages of creating a garden or allotment, whilst others have established green spaces, with varying levels of experience and knowledge. There is an interest in how it can support those on low income and who use the local food bank (Bensham Court); through social prescribing (Rawling Road); growing food from different cultures (Comfrey Project). Conversations with each of the groups has shown there is an interest in developing these green sites and the need to share knowledge and link up for the benefit of the communities involved.
