The Amateur Ancestor and the Tyne Derwent Way

From January to March this year Dingy Butterflies CIC worked with Tyne Derwent Way to develop nine weeks of artist run workshops with the communities from Dunston and Teams in Gateshead. We are happy to announce we have been invited back to develop more workshops and activities at the space over the next few months. This time we will be working with curator and producer Justine Boussard, theatre maker Liv Hunt and artist Chris Folwell to co-create a series of workshops and activities inspired by Justine’s Amateur Ancestor project as a way of engaging people with their community. The Amateur Ancestor uses objects and story telling to create impactful experiences that harness the power of history to expand our sense of time, so that we feel galvanised to better shape what will come next. Keep an eye on our website for updates as the project develops.
