Weaving for Wellbeing Summer time

As we move from summer into autumn, the final sessions of Weaving for Wellbeing at the Comfrey Project have been taking place. We have stated to plan for our exhibition in October at the Shipley Art Gallery and finishing of the artwork. We finished our quilt blocks and planned the layout of the quilt ready for the North East Modern Quilt Guild who kindly agreed to put together for us.

We planted flax earlier in the Summer which has started to grow for use later in the project. In the meantime, we learnt how and continued to create our flat weave.

We finally harvested the flax ready to be dried and used in the project. Before we did this the group created drawings in their books inspired by the flax.
